Dato' Zaki Bin Abdul Razak
Executive Director, Finance
Dato' Zaki Razak joined JPZ Construction & Engineering Sdn Bhd ( JPZ ) as the Executive Director Finance in May 2020. As the Executive Director, he reports directly to the Executive Chairman of JPZ. His role is to lead the development and execution of the company's strategies in order to achieve the overall objectives in the most efficient and productive manner.
He started his tertiary education by joining Universiti Pertanian Malaysia and earning a Diploma in Fisheries & Marine Sciences in 1977. He then pursued his studies at the University of Washington in Seattle where he obtained his BSc
in Fishery in 1980, followed by an MBA degree from Mississippi State University in 1982.

Before joining JPZ, he spent almost 28 years in the financial sector in Malaysia. This career began when he joined Citibank Bhd in 1983, which was then the largest bank in the world. From the initial post of Assistant Manager, he rose through the ranks to become the Vice President in 1994. The following year he was made a Management Committee Member, reporting to the CEO. His 18 years with Citibank Bhd has exposed him to the various functions of the bank covering customer services, branches, operations, sales & marketing, credit, IT and audit. With the experience and training provided when managing the various departments and divisions of the bank, he had the opportunity to hone his skills to be a seasoned manager and leader, equipped with the capability to undertake and successfully implement complex challenges such as formulating strategic plans, organizational development, corporate transformation, process reengineering and total quality management.
He left Citibank Bhd in 2001 to join Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) as the Deputy CEO. BSN was a large savings bank with more than 400 branches, over 7000 employees and in excess of 4 million customers. As the CEO, he was
entrusted to also spearhead the bank's transformation project. This assignment was effectively implemented. A total revamp was initiated based on a clear transformation roadmap, fortified by the full participation of all employees in the implementation process. The ground work laid has now placed BSN on a solid foundation to effectively carry out its objectives.
In 2005, he was recruited as a pioneer officer with the post of Chief Operating Officer to help start up a bank. The bank was Kuwait Finance House Bhd, a Kuwaiti bank that was granted a license to operate Islamic banking in Malaysia by Bank Negara Malaysia. He successfully complied with the strict conditions imposed by Bank Negara and managed to put in place all that was required
prior to the commencement of operations. He served Kuwait Finance House until his retirement in 2011.
After leaving the banking sector, he spent 2 years travelling and then worked for 4 years as a planter and estate manager before joining JPZ as the Chief Finance Officer (CFO).
